MAKE London Wearable Technology and Made Clothing Fashion Show

Whether its the army of fitness trackers hitting the market, or Apple’s highly rumoured smart-watch, there’s no denying that wearable technology is shaping be to the next big technological trend. This March the MakerBus team would like to show London that you don’t need to be a tech giant to have fun with wearable technology.

Together with Museum London we have planned the city’s first wearable technology and made clothing fashion show. Join us March 20th from 7-11pm in celebrating art, fashion, and technology and this one-of-a-kind event.

We put out a call to local artists, fashionistas, and tinkerers to build, sew, and wire original works of art that combine fashion and technology. Our community answered this call and MAKE London is proud to host 22 original works of art by 13 makers from Southern Ontario and beyond.

This event is part of Museum London’s Third Thursday series, a monthly event that remixes the museum’s normal offerings, turning the space into one part nightclub, one part art gallery, and one part cultural hotspot for all things hip. Tickets are on sale now – $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Expect the unexpected at MAKE London. Each week we are going to feature several of the designs and profiles of their creators on our blog. We don’t want to give away too much right now, but prepare to see clothing like you’ve never seen before.

In addition to the fashion show, MAKE London will feature a cash bar and live music by Out of Sound Records.

If you want to try your own hand at DIY fashion, join us at several maker stations where you’ll get a chance to make a unique accessory to bring home with you. To commemorate the event, have your picture taken in our electric photo booth.

To learn more about the event, or to buy tickets, visit Museum London’s Third Thursday page.

Join us in a night of celebrating the creativity of our community. We hope to see you there.
