Okay London, we’ve got a big idea – like 1,500+ people setting a world record big. Monday night we were honoured to receive the support of Awesome London (a community group that gives out $1000 each month for an awesome cause) to make our dream of setting a world record in London a reality.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records there are no world records in London, Ontario. We want to change this. We want to bring our community together to not only beat, but shatter, the world record set in 2013 in The Woodlands, Texas for creating the world’s longest human circuit. In Texas 1,113 people held hands and created a human electrical circuit that turned on a small light.
Our goals is to bring together at least 1,500 (our equipment can support up to 10,000 people) to do something amazing. That’s right, no small lights for us, we want our circuit to cause something amazing to happen. Thanks to the support of Awesome London we have all the equipment we need to set this record and the money needed to apply to the Guinness Book of World Records. All we need now is community support.
Today we’re calling on all Londoners to help us make this happen. Support the city we all share and let’s book London in the record books.
WHAT WE NEED
We need to connect with community groups, events, sporting facilities, or anywhere that large groups of Londoners come together. Send us an email if you want to partner with our world record attempt (firstname.lastname@example.org), because to set this world record we’re going to need everyone in our community to get involved. Oh? And did we mention that everyone who is a part of our circuit will receive a certificate saying that they are a world record holder? That’s pretty darn cool.
Let’s show the world that they may do things big in Texas, but we do things AWESOME here in London!
